The perky ears, stumpy legs, impossibly minature yet round body...Yertle is 45lbs of perfect imperfection! She's extremely friendly, but a very polite greeter. She's always happy to make a new human or dog friend and will waddle around the house with you, curiously checking out what you're up to. She's truly had a very unfair life up until now, including not getting proper care for her eyes. As a result, she can likely only see shadows. However, she easily navigates her foster home, after bumping into a few things here and there during the first few days. She's even started to pick up squeaky toys to get foster mom's attention to play tug!
For Yertle's saftey, we would prefer that she go to a home without stairs or other hazards, like an unfenced pool or pond, that she could inadvertantly walk into. And we think older kids are best, as well. Yertle's family should be able to care for her senior needs, including helping her maintain a healthy weight, keeping her on her eye meds, and joint care.
