Wookie

Hi! My Name Is Wookie

We're happy to tell you that Wookie has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Do you like personal space?  Good, neither does Wookie.  And also, you're now his best friend.  But try not to be too hurt when the rest of the friends, family, kids, and dogs in your life are also his new best friends because this guy loves everyone he meets instantly.  Wookie is just that special sort of dog that sees joy in everything around him.  When he's not playing tug with his bulldog foster sibling or trying to get into the bath to subtly tell foster mom what time it is, you can find him snuggled up as close as possible to a human.  He's a very loving and snuggly guy, which is perfect for taking care of his bulldog needs because he doesn't mind being touched and handled for grooming, fold cleanings, etc.  Wookie is also a superstar at the vet, and he does great on car rides.  Wook is also crate trained and adapts quickly to a potty training routine.  Is there anything he can't do?  Wookie would say no, but we think he's best in a home without a lot of stairs to traverse due to his low and wideset stance to ensure he doesn't deal with any joint pain in the future.  Also, he's not currently living with kids but has in a past life.  He's been known to get a liiiittle excited about meeting new people and getting pets, so he's working on not putting his paws up on new friends.  This means we'd prefer he go to a home without little kids he can bowl over (with love, of course).

Wookie came to ABR with a really intense (non-contagious) skin infection that we've been working on with vet guidance, strong antibiotics, and medicated baths/topical treatments.  You can see his journey in pictures on his profile!  Wook's forever family should keep up with regular bulldog care for him (weekly medicated baths, foot care, ear care, wrinkle wiping, keeping him on a bulldog appropriate diet, etc) so that he never has to be a crusty boy again.
