Winnie

Winnie had been a very neglected dog when we got him. He was 34 lbs, hair & skin issues and sores. We intended to get him healthy, vetted, neutered and find the right forever home for him. Long story short, when I went to get his shots etc at vaccine clinic, found out he was HW positive. Took to vet office to retest and confirm results. Set up for treatment, and we have had some difficulties come up along the way and we are not able to finish what we started and he deserves to have the opportunity for a good life in his years. He is crate trained, we got him house broke/potty trained as he had previously been living outside, in and out of a barn with chickens. He was around horses as well with previous owner. We have had him around our other 2 dogs (Jack Russell Pug mix(neutered male, 11 yo) and Red nose Pit (spayed female, 7 1/2 yo)) and he tolerates them, but is jealous of attention. He needs LOTS of attention. He knows some commands like sit, speak, spin. He loves to go in the car, to Starbucks for pupcups, and he loves to go to the beach, as we live in beach town. He is pretty good for baths and getting wrinkles cleaned. He is a pretty good social dog, and really does not have issue with other dogs out and about, unless he feels I am in danger. He likes to go for walks, to the park, play ball/fetch, but haven't been able to do that with the heartworms and treatment. He was supposed to have his 2nd & 3rd injections May 18, 2023. We are out of resources and are still paying vet bills that have been over $1000 so far. Have much more we can share, if we talk further.
