Wesley is an absolute dream. He has perfect house manners, seems to like all dogs, and is doing wonderfully living in an apartment building. We can’t believe this angel lived outside all his life, up until now! Wesley has never met a stranger and is always eager to greet new people and change some minds about velvet hippos with cropped ears being scary dogs. He would be an amazing addition to a family who likes taking their dog out and about with them, since he’s so well-behaved on the leash and social. Wesley is also one of the snuggliest guys we know— he just loves being the little spoon and getting kisses from his favorite humans. He’s still working on politely taking snacks and being patient when something delicious is around, so we’d prefer older kids, if any, for now.
Wesley is heartworm positive, and ABR will be sponsoring his heartworm treatment (as long as this is done with one of our approved vets). He can be adopted in the Austin, San Antonio, or Houston areas before his treatment is complete and see one of our vets nearby. Wesley must be kept calm while undergoing his treatment to minimize risk to his respiratory system.
