We rescued Savannah 2.5 years ago. She is the happiest dog I’ve ever met. She has been good with our dogs, cats and older children. She is high energy, but loves walks/runs and knows the commands “Sit, Down, Stay, Come”. She is house trained as well. She is silly and wants to please her people. Savannah is such a beautiful dog as well with one blue eye and one brown. She is scared of storms and fireworks, but otherwise loves life. In the beginning, her anxiety over being in a new home came out as high energy and excitement. Once she relaxed in our home, she settled more. She still does best if given regular exercise and stimulation. When interacting with dogs, she does best with small numbers. A large group, such as a dog park, will overwhelm her. Savannah does well with other animals, but she much prefers people. The only behavior issues we have are in connection with her food or treats. She must be alone for treats, chew toys and her meals.
She has gone after our dog over a treat-stuffed toy, so we have separated her for treats from that point on. We have always fed Savannah separately in a bathroom. Recently, Savannah attacked our cat over her food. Normally she plays with this cat, but the cat snuck into the bathroom where she eats as we retrieved her for her meal, and she attacked him, hurting him badly. We love Savannah and want the best environment for her and for our other pets. Savannah is up to date on vaccinations and receives Trifexis for heart worm and parasite prevention.
Savannah is funny, adorable and so loving. She wants to snuggle all the time. She wants to please her people. She is truly a wonderful and beautiful dog. It breaks our hearts to part with her. If her resource guarding is carefully monitored, she can be a fabulous and loving pet. She would do best in a home that will exercise her regularly. Please consider giving Savannah a home.
