Trooper is one of those dogs you see in public that makes you squeal with excitement, even if you're not usually a squealer. And yes, please pet him, because he loves making new friends and will offer his belly to just about anyone he meets. One of our favorite things about trooper is how great he is with kids. He'll plod right up to them and snuggle up, waiting for pets and love. Trooper is very well behaved at home and while walking on the leash. Although, he's not particularly interested in long walks -- lounging in your backyard is more his speed. He's also wonderful to his kitty roomate and although he's not living with dogs now, generally sniffs and then ignores them. Troop would be a wonderful first dog if you are wanting to add another in the future, though he won't be much of a wrestling playmate. Because of his stumpy legs and heart murmur (which is manageable with medication), we'd prefer Trooper not go to a home where he'd need to walk up and down a lot of stairs regularly to ensure he doesn't have joint or leg issues in the future.
