Tigger has really opened up in her ABR foster home, blossoming into a playful, curious girl who loves to play fetch. She may have a little sugar on her snout, but she's still super spry and quick, especially when she's chasing a ball. Tigger also loves to be with her favorite humans. If she could spend all day in someone's lap or tucked in by their side watching TV, that would be perfection for her. Tigger was found starving to death with her pal Petey (who is also adoptable from ABR!), as a stray in a big city. At the shelter they landed in, they were fast favorites with volunteers, who were smitten with their sweet nature and special bond. Petey and Tigger both landed in the same foster home, and we quickly learned how much they both enjoy being part of a friendly pack of other senior dogs! Tigger is always following a different dog around to check out what they're up to and snuggle into the same bed for afternoon naps. Tig is significantly lower maintenance, being an honorary bulldog. We would like her forever home to make sure her senior needs are met (proper diet and supplements) so she can keep playing ball in her golden years.
Petey and Tigger have been together their whole lives and are a bonded, so we would prefer adopted together. Tigger helps Petey feel better when he's sick and Petey helps Tigger feel brave in new places with new people. We were pleasantly surprised to find that even though these two love each other so much, they are happy to spend the day in their foster home independently interacting with other people and dogs. They're also happy to welcome new friends into the fold, and aren't protective of each other in any way that would pose a risk to other humans or dogs. We just adore this odd couple!
