Just the sweetest dog, does not deserve what has happened to him but has also not let it from living his best life. When we brought him in he was severely underweight, had the worst flea infestation I had ever seen, was covered in sores and filth. We immediately took him to the vet, got all of his vaccinations updated and all the recommended tests. Great news is that he is heartworm negative, but they want to recheck him in 6 months. He did have intestinal worms and ear mites but was started on Simparico Trio and all signs of both have been completely taken care of. He has gained 6 lbs and his fur is coming back.
We have been working on obedience training. He sits and waits to be told he can go and eat, but still totally tries to get any other food that he can. He walks really well on a leash. He does have issues that he does not like to go into our backyard after dark, but it is only our backyard for some reason. The only significant issue that we had behavior wise when we brought him in was jumping and waiting his turn. He learned very quickly to sit and wait for loves. This might still go out of the window once in a while if there is food around. He is an amazing dog and really just goes with the flow. If everyone is chilling, he will plop down and turn into a bear rug or curl up in his favorite chair. If a puppy wants to play, he want to play the same game.
