Smoochie is a DARLING perfectly perfect angel baby. She's been through SO much in her short life, but her willingness to immediately trust both humans and other animals is beautiful. When she first arrived at ABR, Smooch was so happy to see that her foster home had dog friends. It took no time at all for her to snuggle up to her foster brother, and they spend chilly days happily sharing a (slightly to small for two dogs) bed. He also introduced her to the resident cat who she definitely wants to play with (but kitty isn't so sure). Smoochie is very friendly with every human she meets, as well. She's happy to get some hugs and scratches, and this attitude extends to grooming and bath time too. Smoochie is also a great passenger in the car and is a major favorite at our vets because of her sweet nature. This is truly a dog who is just happy to be here, wherever "here" is!
Smoochie came to ABR with some very concerning issues when it came to her mobility. She seems to not only have an old injury to one of her legs but also appears to have been poorly bred, causing some deformities with her hips and back legs. But you would never know this girl was in any pain based on how she gets up and about. When started Smoochie on pain meds, she was willing to get up and sniff around outside. She has a specialist appointment soon to determine if anything she has going on can be surgically remedied. But regardless, we'd recommend no stairs in her forever home to avoid any joint pain in her future.
