Sky

Hi! My Name Is Sky

We're happy to tell you that Sky has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Sky is SUCH a lovely, easygoing, laid back girl. She settles in right away to a new place and is ready for love immediately, so she'll feel like she's always been a part of your family right away. Sky is fantastic in the car, and sits very politely wherever you'd like her to. And as expected, she's a doll during grooming and bathing. She doesn't have any negative reaction to fold wiping, ear cleaning, or eye care like a lot of bulldogs do. She just appreciates any sort of love and attention.

Sky LOVES going for trots aroudn the neighborhood and is a perfect leash walker. Sure, she'll bark back when other dogs bark at her (because hey, that was rude!), but generally ignores them when out and about. The best part about taking her for a walk is the silly wiggly dance and head bob she does when she sees her leash and harness come out.

Sky spends most of the day napping but would also be pleased with a tasty something to chew on or some pets from you. She also loves when you have friends and family over to see her (why else would they be there??) or is content to spend 1:1 time with you. She's just a go with the flow kind of gal. She is also a very gentle treat taker and very clean, as far as bulldogs go. What more could you want? Oh yeah, she's crate and potty trained too!

Sky recently had a litter of puppies in April, and is ready to enjoy life as a young dog herself. She hasn't found a lot of toys she enjoys, but she does love swinging in the hammock in the backyard of her foster home. And if you think you're going to get hammock time alone with Sky around, think again. But luckily, she's a perfectly petite 45lbs, which is basically like a weighted blanket but way better.  She's lived with older kids while nursing her litter and loved when her human foster siblings had their friends over.  She truly couldn't get enough love and attention and always looked forward to weekend sleepovers.  Since coming to ABR, Sky has not lived with another dog.  But we think she could be happy with a smaller (than her), calm fur companion with a paced integration.
