Peter

Peter is one of the happiest dogs we’ve ever met! Even when he’s feeling crummy, his tail still whips back and forth at light speed and he’s always excited to see his favorite people. One of our favorite things about Peter is that he smiles! If he’s feeling comfy and content in a nice cozy spot, or getting pets, or eagerly awaiting a tasty snack he’s got the sweetest little smile on his face. Peter had a tough life before coming to ABR. He was found tethered in his breeder’s backyard and abandoned with no food or water for who knows how long, when he ended up in a shelter with his companion Wendy. We are stunned that a dog can go through so much trauma and end up as lovely and well-adjusted as Peter. He is perfect and gentle with any kids he meets (just watch for that tail!!!) and doesn’t seem to mind cats. He seems to instantly make friends with any dog he meets, and loves to wrestle. Peter would do great in just about any home situation — he is okay with stairs, is a fabulous leash walker, and wouldn’t mind having a big family or a small one — he’s just happy to be loved and give love.
