Pepita

Pepita's bouncy little gremlin ears and underbite constantly have us cracking up!  She's such a tiny sweetheart who takes a minute to warm up, but once she does, she loves to sit in your lap or snuggle together on the couch.  She's also very smart!  She arrived at her foster home very desperate for any food she could get her paws on and severely malnourished.  Foster mom has been working diligently on helping her feel more calm when the humans eat, and she's picked up on it so fast!  Pepita is also acing potty training and has become a great leash walker.  In fact, Pepita now goes out and about often with her foster family and is very well-behaved at the brewery, restaurant patios, etc. 

Pepita is still working on gently taking treats and not jumping on new human friends, so we recommend kids 10+ while she is perfecting these skills.  She is currently living with a very calm and friendly male bulldog, and we think this sort of dog match is wonderful for her!  She certainly prefers having a chill companion over a high energy one, which is why we have specified that she likes 'select dogs' in her home.  But she'd also looooove if she was the center of attention in your life, as your one and only princess.

Pepita is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and will be worm-free soon!  This is not contagious to other animals or humans, and we'd love for her to go to her forever family during this treatment.  In fact, we think recovery in her forever home would be a wonderful bonding experience for you and Pepita.
