Mookie Petts

Mookie Petts is ridiculous.  A ridiculous, unbelievable creature who you can't help but fall in love with.  You'll bring him home, and probably think to yourself, "why is he climbing all over my desk?" "which end did that noise just come from?" "are you aware that your limbs are attached to your body and you are able to control where they move?" and the answer will always be, "that's just Mookie ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "  Mooks also has the most endearing soft, cuddly side too.  He loves to be held, drape himself across your lap like an airplane seatbelt, and sit next to you on the couch with his elbow on the armrest like a people, dozing off during the best parts of the movie.  Mookie is super smart and enjoys learning new tricks and skills, as well.  He's nearly aced potty training and is doing great with learning to walk calmly on a leash.

Mookie does not do well with kids.  Their joyful running and laughter make his eyes bug out and all he can think about is eating their toes and ankles.  And he has absolutely no regrets about doing this.  So, we are looking for a home for him that won't subject him to doing things he doesn't like.  Plain and simple.  We also think Mookie may have potential to have other dog friends in the future, and maybe even live with one.  But his time in the shelter did a number on him, and right now, he really wants his humans all to himself after spending so much time alone in a kennel.  We hope his forever family will take the time to get to know him and put his needs first, in terms of interactions with other dogs and what makes him feel safe and comfortable.
