Mika

Hi! My Name Is Mika

We're happy to tell you that Mika has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Mika looks a little different than other dogs, but she sure doesn't know she is!  She came to ABR with an injury to her eye, that required immediate removal.  She had definitely lived this way for awhile, so she was already fully adapted to her new normal.  Mika has the funniest personality, and watching her scurry and hop around on her stumpy legs will be the best part of your day.  She really enjoys being outside and sunning herself, as well as playing with toys.  And she can be a little shy when it comes to new people and places, but once she knows you, she is a total lap dog!

Mika is currently living with a number of other dogs with different personalities, and she gets along best with the ones who are calm and chill.  She's fine with sharing her toys with her bulldog foster brother, and they even snuggle in the same bed together!  Mika is also living in a foster home with a yard, and this is working great for her.  It seems like she doesn't have much experience walking on a leash, so we think this set up is best for her vs a home where she would need to be leashed/take a walk whenever she has to go potty.  We believe it's best to continue to open her world and introduce new things at her pace so she feels most confident.  Mika would also be best in a home with older kids, due to her sometimes being spooked by loud sounds and lots of stuff going on.  But as far as she's concerned, the more hands to pet and offer toys to Mika in her family, the better!
