Mia

Hi! My Name Is Mia

We're happy to tell you that Mia has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Mia is a true survivor and has a 24ct heart of gold!  Her gentle, calming nature is so soothing and comforting, and she just loves being around other people and dogs.  Mia was found by her savior, turned foster mama, living at an abandoned property and surviving off garbage and whatever else she could find.  She was eager to get pets and love from her new friend right away, and is still the same affectionate, loving girl now that she's settled in.  In fact, one of our favorite things about this girl is her very serious 'resting bully face' since her personality is totally opposite.  Mia LOVES other dogs too.  If she goes to the vet or somewhere without her foster pack, she wiggles and barks excitedly whenever she gets home to see them.  She enjoys a good pile of doggy snuggles and is happy to "groom" her friends like a mama cat would.  Mia is not currently living with kids ,but we think she'd do just fine with little ones 6+ since she's so gentle.  And she'd be happy in an apartment setting or a single family home, as long as she has plenty of cozy napping places and a family who loves her.

Mia is heartworm positive, and her treatment to get rid of the worms will be sponsored by ABR.  Mia is able to be adopted before or during this treatment, and recover in her forever home, as long as it is in the Austin, Houston, or San Antonio area.
