Mercy

Hi! My Name Is Mercy

We're happy to tell you that Mercy has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Mercy is a special girl who has really blossomed since coming to ABR.  She arrived to her foster, terrified of the world around her and all of the newness.  It had been years since her ears and eyes had been cared for, which resulted in hear vision being impaired and her ear canals completely closing up.  We also learned that she had limited human interaction in a former life, spending most of her day crated with another dog who would frequently attack her.  Needless to say, she's been through alot.

After some TLC, proper diet and eyecare, and ear cleanings, Mercy has really come out of her shell!  She is a VERY snuggly girl who has started to really enjoy playing with toys.  We can tell she is so grateful for kind human companionship and shows so much appreciation to her current foster family.  And we know she has regained at least some of hearing, since she has learned from her fur foster brother how to bark when the doorbell rings.  Mercy would do best in a home as your one and only queen or with another dog that does not mind sharing human affection.  Because she lived for so long with a dog who frequently went after her, without having her ears or eyesight to see it coming, she can sometimes be a bit wary of other dogs, and we totally understand how tramatizing this experience must've been.
