Maxine 🚘

Maxine is aaaall puppy -- and all of the derpiness, hilarious antics, playful energy, and adorableness that comes with it.  She loves to play with any and every toy and run zoomies around the backyard.  Maxine is doing great learning polite leash walking, too, as well as other commands and basic skills.  She's so so smart and loves having a task to do or being challenged to learn something new.  She would be perfect in a home who wants to get outside, take daily walks, or even go for a jog in cooler weather.  Maxine prefers male dogs, and does not seem to get along with female dogs, based on notes from her previous home.  She's currently in a foster home with a male bulldog who she enjoys playing tug, wrestling, and snuggling up for a nap with.  She also loves going on walks with him around the neighborhood.  Maxine's adoption comes with a training plan created by DogPossible to help her learn the basics to become a well-mannered big girl.  We'd prefer she go to a home with its own yard and if not, with a family who is very diligent about re-inforcing a predictable potty training and walk routine with her.  We also think she would do best with older kids, if any, since part of her training is still working on polite greetings when meeting new human friends.

Maxine is available for adoption to qualified adopters in the contiguous 48 states.  ABR would prefer approved applicants to come to TX to meet their match, with their family and dog(s), but we recognized this isn’t always possible.  In such cases, approved adopters should be willing to participate in video interviews with the entire family to meet their match virtually. Adopters must also provide a transportation plan for their new family member that will require approval from the ABR Board.   This needs to be paid for by the adopter, in addition to the dog’s adoption fee.  Adopters need to also be prepared arrange safe transport back to the Austin area, should adoption not work out.  Please be prepared to provide vet and personal references in your application for us to contact when considering your family.
