Sometimes, when severely neglected dogs come our way, they are totally shut down and fearful of everything. And sometimes, we get Mavis. Get all up in those cheek flaps, boop her nose, put your arm around her and let her kiss all over your face. Mavis is most definitely not shy!! We would love her forever family to include at least one playful dog, since she has the best time wrestling with her bulldog foster sister. She’s also fantastic with her kitty roommate. Mavis isn’t currently living with kids, but she’d do best in a family with ones she can’t knock over, since she is working on not jumping on new friends to give kisses (on the lips and up the nose are her signature moves). We hope that since she is so young and still learning to be part of a family, that her new people will continue working with her on routine and structure, since she didn’t seem to have much of this until coming to rescue. Luckily, Mavey is soo smart and eager to please, that teaching house manners to her has been a breeze.
