Livia

Livia was found roaming the streets in Mexico, looking for a kind person to take her in and save her.  She had been bred within an inch of her life, even into her senior years, with no care her own needs.  And despite this, little Livia still believes every human she meets is kind and has her best interests at heart.  She is eager to flip over and give anyone she meets her wrinkly belly to rub on and has lots of kisses to offer.  You can see by her pictures that when Livia first arrived, she needed some major help with her skin.  We've been working diligently on ensuring she gets proper allergy care, including regular medicated baths, fold cleans (she's got a lot of them!), and a good diet.  And luckily, this girl LOVES all of her spa treatments and snorts happily during them, thankful you're making her feel better. We expect that due to the level of neglect she experienced, she will always need regular skincare in order to never get this bad again.

Livia has really enjoyed making new dog friends in her foster home.  While she's not likely to be a playmate for your dog(s), she does like spending time with them and possibly snuggling up for a nap together.  But her main focus is getting as much love and attention as possible from her humans.  Livia was clearly bred with the intention of making a low bulldog with a wideset stance.  And this comes at the expense of her own health and mobility.  She can definitely get around, and ABR will be consulting with a specialist to see if we can make that more comfortable for her.  But her forever family should expect to offer continued care for her senior joints, as well as avoid having her use stairs or jump on/off furniture.  We'd also prefer she have her own yard vs needing to on walks to potty.
