June Bug arrived at ABR in a very emaciated, neglected state. Often there is some underlying medical cause for this, but it doesn't seem like it in June Bug's case. She eagerly eats and drinks now that she has regular opportunities to do so. June Bug is also wants to play with new dog friends and snuggle up with kitty friends. She definitely wants to be here, and as far as we can tell, has simply been deprived of all things needed to survive and grow.
June Bug is still undergoing medical care, and once she is further along in her healing journey, we'll be able to tell what her longterm needs look like. (This includes a better understanding of whether or not surviving significant abuse and neglect have resulted in additional medical needs for her forever family to consider.)
