Hyacinth is the funniest mini hippo with the most loving, entertaining personality.
She is so sweet that she is one of our few baby—and toddler-approved dogs. She currently lives with a tiny human, and her foster mom loves how eager she is to be around her little friend (but still maintains safe boundaries).
The best parts of Hy's day are when her furless human sibling wakes up from a nap and snuggles up on the couch with her foster mom. Also, please don't tell Hy she's not a lap dog, too. She lives for cuddles, snuggles, booty pats, head scratches, and everything in between! She is a super chewer (on her toys ONLY; this girl has impeccable manners!) and says 'yes-please' to a yummy stuffed Kong for fun and entertainment! For obvious reasons, she was a major volunteer favorite at the shelter we pulled her from.
Hyacinth was actually part of a cruelty case: she was always found roaming as a stray, a frequent flyer at her local shelter. Each time she returned, she had less fur and was in worse and worse shape. The city finally took action and kept Hy from returning to that awful situation. It's really only taken proper care, love, and kindness to help her start her epic glow-up.
Hyacinth is not currently living with another dog but had the best time playing with others at the shelter. We think she could be happy with another dog companion in her furever home as long as her family takes the time to slowly integrate the two (vs. throwing them together immediately). It's important to remember that she was a stray for a long time, so she likely ran into a few unfriendly dogs out in the streets and needed some time to feel safe.
For every lover-of-bulls hoping for their ride-or-die companion, THIS IS YOUR GIRL. She will stick by your side, be up for almost anything, love you 'till the end, and entertain your socks off while she's doing it!
