It's hard to put into words just how special Gustavo is, you just gotta meet him and see for yourself!! Gustavo's foster even says that out of the dozens of dogs she's fostered for multiple rescues, this boy has been her favorite. He has been through so many hardships and abuse -- was living as a stray with horrible mange and survived parvo after he joined ABR -- but throughout all of it, his tail never stops wagging. And even the vets in the parvo ward who were constantly poking and prodding at him always got tons of wiggles and kisses, even when he was on his deathbed. Gustavo instantly loves every single person he meets. In fact, if you are within eyesight and not giving him pets, he makes the funniest noises in protest that you will be shocked are coming from a dog his size. Gustavo also LOVES other dogs. Slow introductions to his foster pack and isolation during parvo recovery were very hard on him. He always wants to play and adapts well to each dog's individual play style. His most favorite place ever is in the backyard romping with his fur friends. Gustavo isn't currently living with kids, but we think older are best for this guy. He is very exuberant with showering his new people friends with love and kisses, which would likely knock a little one over. Gustavo would be a good fit in all sorts of homes -- he is long legged (so he can easily do stairs), and he is learning to walk politely on the leash, so we think an apartment or home with a yard would be just fine. He also is non-destructive when left alone, and is potty trained (uses a dog door)!!!
