Gandalf the Red is no sleepy, retired senior. He's a true adventure dog who loves to be busy, go on long walks, road trips, and rides in the car. After meeting him, we are pretty sure he is heeler/cattle dog and bulldog mixed. Regardless, he has the best tusky underbite and goofy smile, plus the lovable personality to go with it. Gandalf is also a perfect gentleman in the house when left on his own-- he is not only housetrained, but completely non-destructive. We really would love for him to go to a home that is going to keep him busy and stimulated. Even on days his humans are busy, he's pleased to have something interesting to chew or a doggy puzzle to solve. Gandalf is currently working on polite greetings and treat taking, when it comes to interacting with his people. We think this guy must've gone without a lot of love and attention in a previous life, because he gets SO EXCITED when someone is willing to spend time with him, seeming more like a puppy than a senior boy. For this reason, we would prefer he not go into a home with children, at this time. We also don't know enough about Gandalf to properly explain how he does with dogs living in a home with him. We are hoping to find him a more permanent foster home to partner with to better assess this behavior.
