Ernie is a radiant and optimistic ball of love and joy. When out and about, he assumes that all people and dogs are long lost friends he hasn't met yet, and is always eager to go new places and experience new things. In fact, it's kind of tough to get a good picture of his adorable, underbite smile, since he immediately assumes you're leaning in to give him a hug and some butt scratches. Ernie had lived in a home with other dogs, and sharing his humans wasn’t his jam. He’s just fine with them when out and about, but he’d love to be your only prince at home. Although he's not in foster with kids, he's met them often, and does best with older kids. When he’s around little ones, he thinks it’s just too fun to chase after them if they’re playing loudly or running around. He means no harm, but most kids aren’t a fan. Ernie spent the majority of his life severely neglected up until now, so it's shocking how well-adjusted he is. He will always need eye drops, which is common for bulldogs, and we'd prefer he go to a home where he doesn't need to traverse many stairs, since his joints have not been well-cared for until this point.
