Crouton may be a normal, silly puppy in his mind, but he'll need a family who understands that he will always need a protector looking out for his well-being. He was found dumped in a park with two fractured vertebrae, that are on their way to healing. And throughout the process, the only thing he's been uncomfortable with is having to be on crate rest instead of playing! Crouton is currently living with another Frenchie who is teaching him all the important things about bugging the big dogs, how every piece of food in the house belongs to him, and the best places to snuggle. He LOVES to play with all the dogs in his family and especially loves to snuggle up on someone's lap. Crouton is also doing amazing with potty training and doesn't mind sleeping on his own in his crate or special pen with his heartbeat puppy.
Crouton will always need to be handled with care, and we'd prefer he not go to a home with much bigger dogs who will want to rough and tumble play with him. If you apply to adopt Crouton, part of the process will be a review of his medical records and discussion on what longterm care could look like for him. We also would prefer he go to an adults only home so that the whole family understand his needs (sorry, even if your kids are very savvy, there's always a chance their friends might not be). And really, Crouton's care is exactly what every Frenchie wants -- tons of attention and care, lots of being held and snuggled, and special attentiveness to his needs!
All Austin Bulldog Rescue puppies are available to approved adopters in Austin or surrounding cities. If not in ATX, it's up to the discretion of the ABR Board to determine if an exception can be made. Adoption fee listed includes a $200 refundable deposit, which will be returned to the adopter upon presenting proof of spay or neuter. ABR will also sponsor the puppy’s spay/neuter, provided adopter uses one of our approved vets. Adoption fees must be paid in full before bringing your puppy home. Unfortunately, we cannot offer payment plans.
