Cooper

Cooper is happy boy who loves his humans with every wrinkle in his body.  All he wants in life is to have a safe, stable place to call home and a family to call his own.  Cooper will be your best netflix binge partner, will get you outside to laugh at the goofy way he plays with his toys, and will welcome your friends and visitors to your home with open paws.  He is potty trained a wonderfully well-mannered houseguest, but spent about 20hrs in a crate in a previous life, so using one is not his favorite thing.  But despite this, once this boy settles into a routine, he absolutely glows with joy and love. 

During his first three years of life, Cooper has gone from being a stray fighting to survive on the streets of Corpus Christi, to living in what he thought was a forever home, then being crated all day in that home becuase he no longer got along with their other dogs, and then to ABR.  For any dog, this is A LOT.  And for a sensitive boy like Coop, who is so eager to make his humans happy, it's pretty traumatic.  Cooper has been through some scary things with other dogs during his time before ABR, so right now, we would not recommend a home with other dogs.  However, he was respectful and playful with the dog savvy cats in his previous home.  Cooper is VERY friendly with all humans, but sometimes forgets that he's not technically lapdog sized, so we'd recommend older kids, for this reason.
