Chompers

Hi! My Name Is Chompers

We're happy to tell you that Chompers has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Chompers arrived at ABR in pretty bad shape - underweight, with itchy and inflamed skin and goopy eyes.  And even though he felt crummy, he's always a happy dude, eager to roll over for tummy rubs and spend time with any humans who will give him attention.  He's such a lovebug!  Chompers met the cats in his foster home and right away was thrilled to have their company.  He wags his funny tail so fast when he sees them coming to lounge on the bed or in the a sunspot with him.  He also loves kids, too.  He's all sorts of wiggles and paw slaps when he sees them coming to greet him after school each day.

Chompers had always lived happily with other dogs in a former life.  However, right before coming to ABR, he was attacked by two larger offleash dogs while on an evening walk.  This has definitely traumatized our sweet and sensitive guy.  He is not leash reactive or barky at dogs on walks.  However, we do recommend fully separating him from your dog(s) when he first arrives in your home and following our team's guidance to slowly integrate him by building trust through walks together, treat time at a baby gate, etc.  We'll give you plenty of pointers!

Chompers has typical bulldog allergies but lots and lots of folds, so his forever family will need to be able to keep up with his skincare and bulldog appropriate diet.  He will also likely need proper eye care, since they get pretty red and goopy if left unwiped during allergy season.
