Chester

Chester instantly bonds with his humans and anyone that his humans let him know are important to them.  He is the most darling boy with deep brown eyes that will break your heart and make you fall in love at the same time.  Chester wasn't given the best head start in life, and lived in a complicated situation that caused him a lot of stress physically and emotionally.  So, we're starting fresh with this boy to get to know him in a new, relaxing environment.  He loves to play with toys and chew on bully sticks.  But most of all, Chester loves HUGS.  We've seen bulldogs jump up on their new friends in excitement before, but Chester is so gentle and will lay his head on you to embrace.  He is truly a special dog. 

Chester did not get along with dogs in his previous home, but was raised with a littermate, so some of his stress could have been due to that situation.  Out and about, he is totally non-aggressive or reactive on the leash, and politely sniffs new friends before walking away.  He may be able to live with another calm dog, if the humans in the home are willing to help create a positive relationship between them from the start and continue to help build this.   We also think Chester would be great in a home with kids because he is so very gentle and loving.
