Bentley Royce

Hi! My Name Is Bentley Royce

We're happy to tell you that Bentley Royce has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Bentley amazes us every day with his tenacity, determination, and positive outlook.  He arrived at ABR after needing an intense surgery on his spinal cord that would give him a chance at walking again.  He's been doing wonderully in his ABR foster home, and all signs point to him fully regaining his mobility.  Bentley loves his humans so much and prefers to always been snuggling near by.  He's also great with other dogs, and would rather have calm companions to chew on tasty bully sticks wtih than roughhousing playmates.  Bentley loves being outdoors, and we think he would appreciate having a yard to sun himself in.  He will definitely not pass up an opportunity to nap in the grass or on the patio when he can!

Bentley will always  be on the fragile side, so we would prefer he not go to a home with young kids or be put in a position where he has to interact with them regularly.  Although his surgery did resolve his issues while at ABR, he still might experience a relapse and have issues due to IVDD later in life (common to the Frenchie breed).  We need his adopters to do their research and understand the implications and potential expenses around supporting Bentley and being his forever family.  Bentley should also continue to do at-home physical therapy balance exercises to keep his strength up throughout his life.  These exercises are not particuarly intense, and we will provide some helpful guidelines to his family.

At this time, Bentley is still recovering.  We would prefer to match him with someone in the Austin area to ensure he can still see his current doctor for physical therapy, if necessary.  This is his best chance for avoiding a relapse or IVDD.
