Augustus

Augustus arrived in his foster home and was immediately ready to play and have a good time with his frenchie foster brother!  He's a social guy who is easy to get along with and even easier to love.  He even manages to win over even the most wary of cats!  One of our favorite things about Gus is is hilarious underbite with a double row of tiny teeth.  Expect a few times a day to look over and get a laugh out of the goofy grin on his face.  Augustus also really enjoys making new people friends and is always eager to get love and pets from everyone he meets. 

Augustus has recently suffered through a bout of IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) that was fortunately resolved with medication and strict crate rest.  However, this does mean he is more likely to suffer through another IVDD flare up in the future.  Augustus's future family must have done their research on IVDD before applying and be prepared to get him into a specialist to perform any required procedure + pay for this ASAP, given that this could save his life.  His family also must be able to take precautions to avoid another flare up -- no stairs, avoiding rough play with bigger dogs, gentle handling, avoiding jumping on and off couches, beds etc.  IVDD is something that could happen to any Frenchie at any time, so these needs are not unique to just Augustus.
