So, you want to adopt an ADORABULL Frenchie (see what we did there ) 🥰
Although SUPER cute and so yummy & silly, most of our dogs have come from yucky backyard greeders and so, will 100% need to have owners committed to their unique long-term care, health, and wellbeing.
Here are just a couple of things that we need to ensure every French Bulldog adopter understands and is comfortable with.
✅ All Frenchies MUST HAVE A FULL-SERVICE vet and at MINIMUM an ANNUAL vet appointment. Big-box store vets or mobile/discount shot services are just not going to cut it.Â
✅ Here's the BIG ONE: thanks to their breeding, ALL Frenchie parents have to be ready to manage and IMMEDIATELY treat an episode of IVDD: IVDD 411Â
✅ All Frenchie parents must be willing to make the time for daily maintenance and grooming: our Frenchies love their spa time and need (at minimum) all of those folds and crevices cleaned that make them so dang cute. It's a sign of your commitment and care.
✅ Bulldog adopters have to be willing to administer eye drops; all those folds make for grumpy eyelids.
✅ ✅ Last but not least, all lucky bulldog parents should expect to manage the ongoing cost of all the goodies associated with loving a bulldog: including but not limited to: high-quality food, eye drops, medicated shampoo, monthly heartworm prevention, fun toys, vet care, and endless scritches and cuddles (This last one is free)Â
PHEW - that's a list, but these guys are so worth it. Your commitment will be rewarded with the love and joy these Frenchies bring into your life.
Once you go Bulldog, there's no going back to 'regular' dogs
If you're IN, please read on about this gorgeous pup!
Riggs is a GORGEOUS BOI and he, too, comes to us because he needed medical care that his family could not provide.
We are giving him the TLC he so desperately needs to allow him to live a normal, happy, and healthy life, and he will be available to meet his new family soon.
Riggs will more than likely need to eat a restricted diet and use a prescription food as part of his ongoing treatment plan, and his family must be willing to stick to this meal plan.
Despite his current discomfort, Big Rig AKA Riggs is a treat to have around.Â
He's crate and potty trained, loves all people and all dogs, and is even okay with his foster siblings chickens!
Riggsy seems to have two speeds: he is happy to chill and nap, and support his foster dad while he works, but he can also go completely berserker when he sees the watering hose.
We DO expect him to show more of THIS true Frenchie side as he starts to feel better, so watch out world!
