Back in November we adopted/rescued an english bulldog from a friend of a friend. We already have an old english bulldog and had been looking to get him a friend. However we adopted this being told he was in good health and was well mannered. We have been working with him and treating him since November but we cannot financially or emotionally and safely continue to care for him. His name is Bentley and he is about 4 or 5 years old. He has heart worms ( we have been treating with the long term pills) and a persistent eye infection. He is not neutered and has bitten me twice and fights with our other dog occasionally. We have just not been able to bond with him nor have we been able to care for him in the way he needs because he is defensive. He does better with my husband but I am afraid of him and my kids are too. You are my first contact regarding this so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
