Iris is a 4 year old English Bulldog that was recently retired from breeding. We adopted her from the breeder to give her the retirement life she deserved. She was spayed two weeks ago. She loves all humans and wants nothing more to be with her people getting the attention she craves. She knows how to use the doggy door to go do her business. She gets along great with laid back dogs that don't need to be the center of attention. She was recently spayed, had her soft palate evaluated (all good) and her teeth checked (but not cleaned). She lived her first 4 years in a kennel, which is why she craves the attention of humans so much. She has learned to share food and responds to her name when giving treats. She would be great in a home where she is either the only fur baby, or with another dog that is very relaxed and willing to share attention. She does like chew toys, but is not a fetcher. Oh and she is the loudest snorer of all 3 of our bulldogs. We call her the teacup because she is so small and compact, but her snoring would make you think she is 150 pounds of bulldog! She has the cutest facial expressions, and has the sharpest hearing. She does really well with wrinkle cleanings and sits nicely while getting her face cleaned. Her wrinkles and folds are not very deep so face cleaning for her is pretty easy. The pads of her feet are a bit hard and crusty, I assume a result of living in a kennel with concrete floors her whole life. They don't seem to both her but something I wanted to mention. She also has a bare spot on the back of one of her legs. What we were told was that when she was born the breeder kept small heaters in the pen with the puppies for warmth, and Iris got too close to it and it burned her back leg and the fur does not grow there. It doesn't bother her but may need lotion from time to time if it gets really dry (we haven't had any issues with it since she has been with us). She will do great in a home, and all we want is for her to find a home that can give her the time and attention she deserves.
