Sarah

Hi! My Name Is Sarah

On one of the hottest days we've had so far Sarah, that is what we call her, walked up to our farm begging for water and attention. Her coat was filthy, her nails long, the shadow of a long warn collar on her neck, and every rib and vertebrae protruding. Her teets hang down, and nipples are misshapen from all litters she had.
From the moment she got on our farm and attention was given, she couldn't get close enough to you. She's so timid and doesn't understand commands, but she wants to so badly. In Sarah's 4-5 short years, she's spent it on a chain. She wasn't fed regularly and received little to no vet care. She is seriously under muscled, severely underweight, and has had multiple litters, the most recent one in the last couple weeks.
Being dumped in the country is one of the cruelest things you can do. There are completely different rules, and most are unspoken. She wanted to see all the animals, but just the fact she was a dog made her the enemy. On her first day abandoned, and without any cause or aggression, she was kicked by a horse breaking her front leg. She is now in a splint and a kennel for the next two weeks, but she still doesn't understand.
