My elderly father, Darrell Evans, (83 years old) lost his wife in early February and can no longer provide reliable care for his amazing American Bulldog named Gatsby.
My father was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks immediately after his wife died and his health does not allow him to sustainably care for his dog. Previously his wife cared for their dog. My father is moving to a senior living community in early March and needs to find Gatsby a safe and loving home.
Gatsby is almost 7 years old, he was found as puppy in Utopia, Texas. He is very friendly with other dogs; he lived with 2 other female dogs until they crossed the rainbow bridge. He is also friendly with cats. He is house broken, gentle with kids, and overall very friendly, yet has a temporary shy demeanor around strangers. He is low energy and loves to sleep near windows on a dog bed or on a comfy sofa. He is up to date on all veterinary requirements and records are available from Lakewood Forest Veterinary Hospital.
My father's family live in other cities and states and do not have the ability or environment to care for Gatsby. We are in dire need of finding this incredibly sweet dog a good home ASAP.
