Z – Maggie

Hi! My Name Is Z – Maggie

I found Maggie on dallas craigslist. The owner was not completely true with me, as she told me,no issues what so ever? She charged me $150 for her adoption fee? I was ecstatic as you all know these dogs are very exspensive! Maggie is absolutely beautiful. She does not have any visible skin issues? I do have her groomed regularly, as her face sometimes smells, due to her eye drain. Maggie loves to be near her humans. If left too long, she will chew up stuff. I crate her at night, because she does not realize her own strength, she wants to be in your lap like a chiuahua! She is great about crating, just not too long. Maggie loves car rides, when outdoors, Maggie does well, but can be easily distracted so I used a leash at all times. Maggies loves her dream bone chew bones, Maggie is extremely calm, I worked from home, so during the day Maggie would either sleep on the deck or sleep at my feet. For the most part Maggie is potty trained, but when she needs to go.....she needs to go. Maggie is fixed (spayed), and Maggie was fed once a day. When I fed her, I fed her alone, but if I moved her bowl or went near her while she ate, she was fine. Maggie is a delight at the groomers? Maggie's food was being softened at her other home, so I countinued that practice, I either used chicken broth, or warm water. I am literally sick over having to do this, Maggie is a great dog, she just isnt a great dog for our home.
The incident: Saturday, I was mopping the floor, I had the baby gate in my rooms doorway. My room is where the little yappers are, I thought the door was closed, I completely forgot, and the hole situation is my fault. but when I was mopping Maggie ran inside, she went to the front deck to lay in the sun, immediatley i remembered the door to my room was opened with just the baby gate, i dropped the mop and took off running to the door, Maggie was already there! Maggie heard the yappers barking at her,and Maggie lunged over the gate & grabbed the Maltese. I could not get Maggie to release, i used water, i put my hand at the moouth of maggie, i tried but she is very strong. she outweighs me. Finally i guess Maggie had had her fun, so she released, my maltese has a hole in her cheek & her ear is punctured. this scared me because my new born infant grandchild is here with me. This is another area of concern.....Maggie is great with the baby, until the baby cries? Maggie will growl at the baby when she cries? not like take a stance at her, or even fixate on her? just Maggie will make a growling noise when the baby cries?
Like I say, Maggie will be a great dog for someone, it just cant be me.
