Cadillac

Cadillac is a loving, calm guy who has hilarious spurts of energy.  When you look at his sleepy face, you'd never guess that this guy can parkour around a living room and roughouse with doggy friends, should the mood strike him.  Caddy came to ABR from a shelter up north, after his family could not longer provide for his needs.  He is friendly with all humans, and ready to jump in your lap right away for snuggles.  He's also wonderful with other dogs, and would appreciate a friend who doesn't mind rowdy play every now and again. And because he can be very eager for love and hugs, we'd recommend older kids who he can't knock over.

Cadillac was bred to have an extremely smushed face which sometimes makes eating, drinking, and breathing difficult for him.  His forever family should do their research on brachycephalic breeds to understand how best to monitor him and look for signs of distress.  He will need to eat from a raised slow feeder and drink from a raised bowl, to help with this.  Cadillac also does love walks and playing with dog friends, but his family needs to make sure he does each of things safely. 

Cadillac will be seeing a specialist in ATX to address his breathing concerns and potentially have soft palate surgery.  He can be matched to a family in the Austin area during this time.  If outside the Austin area, we ask that his applicants be patient with his medical journey, since he needs to stay near his vets during that time.
