Bijou

Bijou is a once in a lifetime dog.  She is so kind, lovely, and able to intuitively recognize when she needs to shift from being a bowling ball to play with her fur foster siblings, to treading lightly when she's snuggling with her very young human fosters.  She loves playing and wrestling with other dogs, but is happy to give a dog space when they just want to be around the house but not necessarily be a cuddly buddy.  Bijou is itty bitty too!  She is about 40lbs and perfect for a smaller home or apartment situation (especially because she is totally potty trained and well-behaved walking on the leash).  She's a microbully, which means she was bred to have a very intentional look without much care for her longterm well-being or health.  Because of her shape and size, her forever family should avoid stairs for her, try to help her jump off high places as often as possible, and keep her on a good joint supplement.  Bijou has also met cats and is curious, but understands she needs to let them come to her to make them feel safe.  (We told you this girl was special!!)

Bijou is one of the few dogs we can honestly say would be awesome in a home with even very young kids.  She just 'gets it.'  She LOVES letting her young foster siblings read her stories and enjoys sleeping in bed between them.  She's currently living with a very big family full of kiddos and tons of activity and is thriving in that environment.
