Dempsey Serotonin Wrinklebottom

Dempsey is a little spitfire who is convinced that she is as big as the rest of the dogs in her foster home, and you can't tell her otherwise!  She was born with the odds stacked against her -- two genetic conditions that could've put her life at risk.  But Dempsey is a survivor and hasn't let anything stop her yet!  She loves to run and terrorize her fur foster siblings and wrestle with the ones who are willing to spar with her.  She also adores meeting new people, and was a major crowd favorite at a few of our recent events!  Dempsey is currently living with both dogs and cats and is convinced that the cats are going to play with her if she just keeps trying. 

Dempsey was diagnosed with a condition typical of badly bred bulldogs called Hypoplastic Trachea.  This does not require surgery to address, and she should be able to still live a long happy life.  She does not need to be fed in a special way, but her forever family should be mindful that she will need to always use a slow feeder and will have a sensitive system.  We also think young kids are not a good fit for her right now, since she will need to stay calm after she eats, especially as she is still growing. Basically, we would like her to go to an attentive family who will ensure she is happy and healthy as she grows into this.  Dempsey also has a small deformity in her front leg.  As she's been in foster, this has straightened out a bit and her mobility has definitely improved!  We'd like for her forever home to have no or very few stairs that she would need to use in order to minimize impact on her joints as she is still growing.  

Dempsey is available to an approved adopter in Austin or surrounding cities.  Adoption fee listed includes a $200 refundable deposit, which will be returned to the adopter upon presenting proof of spay.  ABR will also sponsor Dempsey's spay, provided adopter uses one of our approved vets.  Adoption fees must be paid in full before bringing your puppy home.  Unfortunately, we cannot offer payment plans.
